Nina Kokelj

Nina Kokelj was born on February 5th 1972 in Kranj. She attended high school in Škofja Loka and graduated from the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana. She is an award-winning author of five novels - Grace, Silkworm, Summer with Clown, The Land of Straw and The Lens of Sibidus (Youth novel) - and many picture books. For the Boy on a White Cloud (Mladinska knjiga, 2006) she received a respectable White Raven Award at the International Children's Book Fair in Bologna. In the ether of trembling images, relentless sharpness of intellect and powerful ideological forces, she lives her magical spiritual literature through the picturesque performances and lovely shows for children. She is a publicist and a screenwriter for puppet shows, theatre performances and public events. And she says she is one of the Fates of a new world.
