Gorazd Kocijančič

Gorazd Kocijančič is a Slovene philosopher, poet, translator and editor, winner of the Rožanc Prize for the best book of essays in 2005, of Sovre Prize for his translations of Plato and of Prešeren's fund award for his latest poetry collection Primož Trubar is leaving Ljubljana (2012). He participated in the last translation of the Bible into Slovene and edited the integral translation of Presocratic philosophy, which was published in 2012. In 2004, he was declared the person of the year by the main Slovene newspaper Delo. He published four books of poetry: Tvoja imena (Your names, 2000), Trideset stopnic in naju ni (Thirty steps and we are gone, 2005), Certamen spirituale (2008) and Primož Trubar is leaving Ljubljana (2012). Several of his works have been translated into English, Czech, Serbian, Italian and Russian.
